I have loved art since I could pick up a crayon. Art was a constant presence from the moment the first crayon touched paper. That early curiosity grew into a passion for drawing and painting throughout high school, earning first place in several statewide art contests.

That foundation led to continued studies at Monterey Peninsula College, that supported the growth of
Custom Art Creations and strengthened an entrepreneurial approach to design. Freelance work spanned murals, portraits, logos, and even wedding dress design, blending creativity with client collaboration.

As the world shifted toward digital solutions, client needs evolved as well. That transition prompted a move back to the East Bay and enrollment at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. There, vector art became a new creative language, and traditional paintbrushes transformed to a Wacom pen and tablet. That path unfolded into what became 20 years of experience in graphic design.

While working at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, exposure to large-scale training initiatives sparked a growing interest in learning development. Designing visuals that supported safety and knowledge transfer revealed the power of well-structured instruction, leading to the pursuit of a master’s degree in Instructional Design.

Now, the days are spent building automation with AI-driven tools to enhance user experience. Though far removed from fine art roots, the work involves mastering more software programs than once imagined—and enjoying every step of the process. An art background still shows through in every eLearning experience, where visual storytelling and design remain central. Illustration and character design continue as a favorite creative outlet, with children’s books written and illustrated during spare time.
